We have total of <a href=\"https:\/\/2018.turku.wordcamp.org\/organizers\/\">five great organizers<\/a> already but there is a room for one or two more. As an organizer you will have a real impact and say on how the event turns out and a change to give back to the WordPress community and <a href=\"https:\/\/ma.tt\/2014\/09\/five-for-the-future\/\">ultimately helping to push WordPress further<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>What is expected of organizers?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Want to volunteer, none of us gets paid<\/li>\n<li>Be able to spend 0,5-3 hours weekly (some weeks there is practically nothing to do, some weeks a lot)<\/li>\n<li>Are willing to learn and try new roles, none of us are professionals in organizing events (there is <a href=\"https:\/\/make.wordpress.org\/community\/handbook\/wordcamp-organizer\/\">an official organizer handbook to help<\/a>\u00a0and we have a mentor)<\/li>\n<li>Commit to <a href=\"https:\/\/2018.turku.wordcamp.org\/code-of-conduct\/\">the code of conduct<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Preferably located in Turku area but not necessary as we have our meetings on Google Hangouts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What do we need help with?<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li><del><strong>Speakers<\/strong>: managing speaker selection, slides review etc<\/del><\/li>\n<li><del><strong>Stage managing<\/strong>: announcing and managing speakers at the event<\/del><\/li>\n<li><strong>A\/V manager<\/strong>: understanding something from mics and video cameras. The basic A\/V comes from venue and we have volunteers for recording the event.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>How to apply?<\/h3>\n<p>Mail to <strong>turku@wordcamp.org<\/strong> and say what you wanna help with and why. If any experience organizing events, let us know too. You can also ask more information there.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Notice: This is not the call for volunteers<\/strong>. We will call volunteers closer to event that help with the event day arragements.
